  1. IDEAS FOR EXTRA SESSIONS:

    1. Make students pre-register for your session so you know your potential attendance/can obtain emails

    2. Possibly create “completion cards” that you will email to students at the end of each sessions so they can turn that into their teachers for an “asynchronous grade” for the week?

  2. EXAMPLES OF TYPES OF SESSIONS:

    1. Host one-on-ones (3- 10 min sessions per time slot, or 1 - 30 min time slot)

    2. Have (pre-recorded) sessions with professors

    3. Have (pre-recorded) sessions with alumni

    4. Have (pre-recorded) sessions with current students

    5. Parent-Focused sessions

    6. Teacher-Focused sessions

    7. Do more portfolio reviews

    8. Open Zoom - kids can pop on with any questions

    9. Informative "art school" sessions (i.e. Portfolio 101, What does the 1st year of Art School look like, etc)

  3. OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER:

    1. I think Sunday is the same day as National Portfolio Day

      1. You don't have to plan anything on this day

      2. Set up pre-recorded videos for the students

    2. You've already done enough. Enjoy your day off!

    1. You can upload a pre-recorded presentation HERE that we will post after the event OR you can record your session (as long as no student videos are on) and send it to us after the event. We will post to the website after the event.

  2. GOLD: Prepare a 20 min live presentation

    1. You can upload a pre-recorded presentation HERE that we will post after the event OR you can record your session (as long as no student videos are on) and send it to us after the event. We will post to the website after the event.

  3. SILVER: Prepare a 15 min live presentation

  4. BRONZE: Upload your pre-recorded video

    1. Please put your 10 min presentation HERE (please have it in here by November 4th). If it's a link, you can also link it on this document.

3. How Are students prepping their portfolios for review?

We are encouraging students to submit 5-25 pieces for portfolio reviews. We will encourage teachers to review their portfolios before with them before they submit. ArtconnectED will also be encouraging students to pre-submit their portfolios to you so you have it ready for their meeting as well as reach out to you via email to schedule a portfolio review.

4. Set up your mini portfolio day portfolio review session

College reps will be responsible for scheduling their own portfolio reviews, but we will market the portfolio reviews and encourage students to sign up for them as part of the event. Some options for how to schedule appointments are to make a google doc or use Calendly. Here's an "example", but create whatever you want (please try to stay away from just "email college rep". Students might get overwhelmed by the ambiguity of that, and showing them more specific time slots will encourage them to sign up for an actual time slot)!

QUESTION: Will you allow students to sign up for "day of" portfolio reviews at Mini Portfolio Day? It's your call for how to do this.

5. How are you going to help me connect with students?

  1. We will have both students and teachers register for the event

    1. For the students/teachers that signed off on sharing their emails, we will allow you to access that before the event

  2. We will be sending teachers THIS WEBSITE LINK and an introductory video to the event encouraging their participation. We are encouraging teachers to help students prepare their portfolios, how to send an email to a college rep, and how to sign up for sessions throughout the day. We will also encourage teachers to give students “asynchronous credit” for attending sessions (i.e. you don’t have to come to class on Monday if you send me a receipt that you went to a college session).

    1. What can be evidence of this?

      1. College reps could work on possibly sending evidence of completion of a session (you could get student emails that way)

      2. Students take a picture of themselves attending your session and tag you on social media

  3. We will be sending students/parents THIS WEBSITE LINK. We are encouraging students to register, attend, prepare their portfolios, send it to colleges beforehand, research the school, and beginning to build relationships with college reps.
